“All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.” – Anatole France
When it comes down to it, most people are fearful of change. It’s always perplexed me yet I completely understand. There is a lot of comfort in being content. Is being content the same as being happy?
I have been going through the process of transformation for a while now and I can say in absolute faith that it is the best thing I could do to LOVE MYSELF and improve the quality of my life. When it comes down to it, you gotta take care of your self and love yourself. Otherwise, what good are you to anyone else – especially your most loved ones?
I fought with this concept and still do sometimes. Yet, if I am completely honest with myself – the more I love myself – and care for myself, the more my loved ones are benefitting. The more courageous I become, the less fearful I become and the more love can fill my life. It’s all connected
The point of this message is that it starts with You. No one is going to be able to make you happy. You have to make yourself happy and everyone and the things around you can add to your happiness. They do not have the power to give you the TRUE happiness you seek and deserve.
For me the change began when I decided to and took the steps to lose my pregnancy weight. That was just the beginning. So many things followed and now over a year later – the layers are still falling off and the truth of who I am is coming to the surface. And it’s beautiful.
The journey is not fat loss for everyone. It may involve eliminating or healing the unhealthy relationships in your life, getting involved in a new hobby, moving to another country, making new friends or even taking a spontaneous, unplanned vacation. This list is endless!
The thing is, when you take that first step to change for Yourself, the universe will conspire with you and for you to help make it happen.
Then the journey begins. There will be bumps along the way – and these are opportunities for you to face yourself, embrace yourself, and examine why things are the way they are. Once the lesson is learned and/or cleared, new and often wonderful things follow. I don’t know what your journey is going to be like. That’s part of what this life is about. It’s a journey.
Enjoy it. It’s not a race to the finish line.
Love yourself and care for yourself to the point where you are so strong that nothing that happens in the external world can affect you.
It’s a gift.
PS. On a side note, sometimes change will choose you. If it does, remember – it’s all for the good in the long run.
Stay true to yourself! And Much LOVE!
